Kaiko Fidgets

About Kaiko Fidgets

At just 16 years of age, Kai & his parents, Mike & Jo (also ‘neurospicy’ & an Occupational Therapist) are helping shape the face of sensory supports for improved mental health of teens and adults nationally.

Kaiko Fidgets' “why”

Kai is both Dyslexic and Autistic and started making fidgets in 2017, as a result of being teased at school for using colourful, kiddie-like fidgets.

The difficulty is much of what was available to use to fidget with was either noisy, childish or easily broke.

Determined to find something suitable and stylish for himself, he turned to metal to make his own!

Soon enough, instead of being teased - he got requests for them, and Kaiko Fidgets was born!

With a strong focus on function, age-appropriate appeal and durability Kai and his parents design and create a huge range of supports, including tools for harm minimisation, emotional regulation and focus.

My favourite part of my “job” is…

For us is definitely the gorgeous feedback we get daily from so many sharing the impact our range has. Particularly the harm minimisation tool.

A fun fact about me is…

Our whole house is neurospicy. Kai’s hyperfocus interest is all things Anime and Japanese.

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” — Albert Einstein

"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is a quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.'" - Mary Anne Radmacher
